Printing in MDS

In this tutorial we will be printing a standard landscape 4.1/4 x 5-1/2 size card.

Click “Print” under the “Share Project” tab.
My Digital Studio (MDS) will ask you to save your project.  Click “Yes”.

First select the card page you will be printing by placing a check in the box on top left corner of the image.
 Next change your printer “Properties”.
All printers are different, you many need to access your printer settings in another area.  If you do not display this properties button in this first Option window, then click on Page Setup and see if you have a button there for “Printer”.

This is what the Properties box looks like for my printer. I need to change the paper type in order to get the borderless printing option. Choose “Premium Presentation Paper Matte”. Now you can click “Borderless”.
I also make sure I have “Best Photo” chosen for the highest quality print.
Leave your Orientation as Portrait.  Your paper orientation is not the same as your card orientation.
Click “Ok”.

Next, click on “Page Setup”.
Here you will set your Margins.
Choose Borderless and set your margins at the same measurements that you would cut and score your cardstock.
Left : 0
Right:  5.5
Top: 4.25
Bottom: 0
Notice, it is set at "Landscape" in this window. Do not change this option.  The image above the margin settings will show you how your card will print.  Click "OK".

When you are back at the Print Options window, click on “Advanced…”

Notice the image is centered on the cardstock.

Click the drop down menu under “Image layout Adjustment” and choose “Custom Layout”.
This will apply your margin settings that you previously entered.

You should now see your image in the proper position on your cardstock.
Click “OK” and then Print.
TIP - I always print first on Copy Paper to be sure it is printing as I want before printing on Cardstock.
